Frequently Asked Questions
What is my password?
The passwords are provided in the email you received upon receipt of your registration. We do not provide them by telephone, but you are welcome to send an email to info@accessola.com and they will be sent to you once we verify your registration.
When will I get my books? Why haven't I received my books?
All books ordered through the registration process are mailed by S&B Books even though they were ordered through OLA. If you have any questions regarding your order please contact them directly at forest@sbbooks.com or at 905-629-5055 / 1-800-997-7099
Is my Forest® password the same as my [r]e-Forestation password?
No. Your Forest password for each program is unique to that program, however for you to participate on the [r]e-Forestation site the passwords are unique to the individual. We are hoping that next year the passwords will be the same for both and every person participating will have their own.
I want to order tickets to the Festival of Trees™ in Toronto. Who do I contact?
TORONTO FESTIVAL - All tickets are sold through
Harbourfront Centre on a first-come-first-served basis.
Ticket prices are in the $15 range plus HST, per reader and are not available until after January 14. There are no limits on the number of tickets you can purchase.
I disagree with a book that is on one of the nominated lists. Who do I contact?
Please contact the
Chair of the Selection Committee for the Reading Program with which you are questioning. Alternatively you can contact the Chair of the Forest of Reading®, Gianna Dassios at
gianna.dassios@sympatico.ca , Helen Kubiw at
huskub@everus.ca, and the OLA Program Co-ordinator, Meredith Tutching at
olaprograms@accessola.com. The Chairs' emails can be found under the Committee's list under "Get Involved".
How can I get my book considered for next year?

How do I add a program to my registration?
You may select an additional program at any time by going back to the
online registration section. All programs are now $20 including HST for Members and $35 including HST for Non-members of OLA so just fill out the application form again and select the additional program.
I am putting in my User-ID and Password and it still isn't working! What am I doing wrong?
The User-ID and Password are case sensitive, and they need to be entered exactly as outlined in the email sent to you with this information. If you are cutting and pasting from the email, ensure that you don't have any spaces before or after the strings. You can only be logged into one password-protected Forest of Reading® site at a time.
When will the Password-Protected site for REGISTERED FOREST® MEMBERS be available?
They will be available in early December. These Websites will have activities, shared resources, voting information, downloadable information about the authors and more detailed information on the nominees.
I’m a Member, does that not cover my Forest of Reading Registration?
Your membership is for the OLA and it’s divisions. This membership is separate from your Forest of Reading involvement. For membership questions please contact membership@accessola.com or go to
Membership. Please ensure that your Forest registration is processed separately from your membership form.
Where are the Tracking Sheets?
Tracking sheets are how the readers can track their reading. They can be found under password-protected sites for each program in November. You need to click on "Resources" down on the navigation to get them. The Forest programs are registered and trademarked so only registered users can use Forest brand.
How do I get an Author/Illustrator at my School or Library?
All Author Booking information will be found under the Password-Protected sites for registered users only.
Where do I find the previous winners of the Forest of Reading?
All previous nominees and winners from the beginning of each program can be found under the
Archives of Nominees and Winners section.
How do I run a Forest of Reading program?
On the Password-Protected sites for registered members there is a link on ‘How to Run the Programs’, however we encourage Teacher-Librarians/Librarians/Forest Administrators to run the programs how they wish. On these sites there are helpful hints and this site will be open in early December. The programs are intended to run in the New Year.
Why haven’t I received anything in the mail about my registration?
The Forest of Reading programs are on-line based programs and everything is sent via email and all updated information is on our
Website.
I’d like to order more than 5 sets of books. Why won’t it let me on the registration form?
You can absolutely order more than 5 sets of books, however you can do that directly through S&B Books at www.sbbooks.com or 905-629-5055 / 1-800-997-7099. During registration we have a cap of 5 sets of books so that school and library purchasing cards can pay for them.
