Public Libraries &
First Nations Public Libraries

Library operating grants are statutory under the Public Libraries Act.
Library operating funding goes to:

  • Public Library Boards and First Nations public libraries; and
  • Municipalities, Local Service Boards or First Nations that establish a contract for library service with a neighbouring public library board

 Canada Supports Canadian high-needs elementary schools through funding the purchase of books and educational resources.

I Read Canadian Fund
 Ontario Offered by the Ontario Library Association, for funding for transportation to and from the Festival of Trees.
Sarah Badgely Literacy Fund (OLA)  Ontario A grant of up to $500 per year is available to rural public libraries and to urban public libraries that serve rural clientele.  2018 submission dates to be updated
Aviva Community Fund   For ideas that result in change that positively affects your community.
Ideas accepted between September to October
Ontario Media Development Corporation  Ontario Support for Ontario Book Publishers, cultural entrepreneurs, and not-for-profit industry organizations.
