OLA offers our members numerous professional development opportunities and supports learning skills and knowledge in the library field. Opportunites to volunteer with the association build both your personal skills and offer the opportunity to learn and share new learned skills with your current work place. Volunteering and attending OLA events gives you the opportunity to network and build connections with people in the field from across the province.
OLA has an active Mentoring Committee which offers mentor matching, resume crititquing, mock interviewing and other services on site at the OLA Super Conference Career Centre.
Some other tools include programs and services of The Partnership. For example. The Partnership Job Board which advertises available library positions posted from across the country, the CEC (Continuing Education Certificate) Program, and continuing education oppoortunites through EI (Education Institute) and in person events throughout the year.
