OCULA Spring Dinner
Each year the Ontario College and University Library Association (OCULA) hosts both a spring and fall conference, as well as a spring dinner. These gatherings offer the opportunity to keep up to date about issues pertaining to academic libraries, to participate in stimulating and timely professional development activities and to network with other academic library staff.

Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2015
Location: Amsterdam BrewHouse On-the-Lake, Toronto, Ontario
Time: 6-9pm

Submit your ideas

Spring is finally popping up and the OCULA Spring Dinner theme this year is pop-up participatory events and makerspaces in academic libraries. It’s all about making and sharing creative projects and ideas.
Even if you can’t attend this year’s event, we'd like you to share with us some of the creative and playful ways you're engaging with the students in your library.
We have created a short form for you to submit examples of library events you have hosted to support student success and well-being (see attached). Examples might include yoga classes to de-stress students, knitting clubs to bring together different academic communities, or setting students up on blind dates with books from your leisure collection.

If sharing your wisdom and creativity with OCULA members isn’t enough incentive for you to submit an entry, what if we told you that those attending the dinner will vote on the events they think best exemplify the following categories. The winning institutions will win prizes that will help them plan a future event for students at their library.

Member’s Choice Categories
Best Event to Develop Students’ Problem-solving and/or Critical Thinking Skills
Best Event to Support Students’ Well-being
Best Event to Foster Cross-collaboration and/or Bring Together Different Academic Communities
Most Innovative Event Overall
Event I'd Most Like to Try Out at My Library

To submit an entry, please send the completed form and accompany images via email to Shanna Pearson.
The deadline to submit your entries is Tuesday, April, 28th.
