Presenters will provide some concrete examples from their advocacy experiences in diverse academic library settings. Attendees will be invited to reflect on their current advocacy activities and brainstorm and share ideas for future initiatives.

About the Presenters:

Jesse Carliner is a Communications and User Services Librarian at the University of Toronto Libraries. In his communications role, he coordinates external communications for the Libraries, including media relations, marketing and promotions, and social media. He is co-chair of the OLA Advocacy Committee.

Natalie Colaiacovo is a librarian at Centennial College. She supports the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Sciences, as well as the library’s makerspace and emerging technology collection. Having worked in the college sector for the past 2 years, Natalie has appreciated the opportunity to advocate for college libraries and librarians through her role as OCULA Councillor-at-Large. Natalie’s previous experience is in education and health libraries.
