OCULA 2012 Fall Conference
Apprehending the Mysteries: Building our Profession through Mentoring and Career Development

Working in libraries can be bewildering, and the constantly changing environment can be a challenge.  Library school provides a good start in terms of skills and knowledge, but even more is learned on the job and throughout your career.  Mentoring and networking are two important strategies for career development, valuable whether you are still in library school have started your first job, are looking for a new challenge or wanting to progress in your career.  Join us for this one day conference where you will make connections with colleagues, learn and practice strategies for networking, and come away with an increased understanding of the mentoring process, including both mentoring others and being mentored.

There are still spots available for the OCULA Fall Conference on mentoring, October 12, 2012 - attendees from all library sectors are welcome!
Register online by Monday October 8.

Keynote: Mentoring in Conversation

The keynote will feature Tanis Fink, Chief Librarian and Director of Seneca Libraries, in conversation with two mentoring experts from Ontario's academic libraries: Jim Brett, University of Guelph, and Laurie Morrison, Brock University. You won't want to miss their enthusiastic and inspiring discussion about what mentoring means to them, who has influenced their careers, their vision for the future of mentoring in libraries, and more.
