The Readers' Advisory Committee
The OPLA Readers' Advisory Committee develops and promotes adult readers’ advisory service in public libraries. Its principal functions are to provide a forum through which public library staff can meet, exchange ideas, and promote services; to ensure educational opportunities are provided for staff working with adult readers; to advocate and promote readers' advisory excellence; to raise the standards and strengthen the guidelines for readers’ advisory services province-wide through the development of core competencies; and to honour excellence in service to adult readers.
